Lynne’s Art summer school focused on the creation of large-scale artworks – specifically portraiture.  Participants were given the opportunity to work collaboratively with an experienced artist and were able to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding.  Students explored and developed their own ideas whilst working independently and as part of a team.  A sense of inclusion and ownership was promoted.  Teams from the Excellence Partnership and Family and Out of Lesson Time Learning worked together to provide a varied programme of activities designed to appeal to those with specific gifts or talents.  A total of 188 pupils from 40 different city schools were involved in the events. This project was run by Excellence Partnership, Derby City Council.
