Lynne's extensive artwork at Derby Royal Hospital is being used both nationally and internationally in a range of medical research contexts. Her artwork within the hospital environment has been used in an MD thesis about the stress reducing effect of one interior design concept at Charité Berlin. Her work has also been the basis of several student midwife presentation and research documents across the country, mainly focusing on how the interior environment effects patient well-being.

More Abstract Art Workshops for Sinfin Art Group

Lynne was delighted to be invited back to Sinfin Art Group in April to lead a workshop in Abstract Art. Lynne worked previously with this group in 2009 on a highly successful project with QUAD Outreach, Arts and Health. The group were so impressed with her delivery style that they invited her back independently. For her most recent workshop Lynne focused on landscape with the session being underpinned by contextual studies in art history and in-depth art technique demonstrations. Lynne has also been invited back again later this year to deliver further sessions in August 2011. The painting featured is J.M.W Turner's Rain, 'Steam, Speed 1884' which has formed the basis for a lot of discussion in the group.

New Website

We have been working closely with Baseline on the re-launch of our website and are delighted with the results. We were happy with the overall design of the Hollingsworth Designs website before, but wanted to update the layout, improve the way it worked and change the structure. Baseline listened to our requirements and made some really good suggestions for additional improvements we could make.

The website now works better and is much easier to update. It hass been such a delight to work with the team at Baseline, they are true professionals who have surpassed all our expectations. The website is an important part of our business and it has been reassuring to know that it has been in safe hands, with a team at Baseline who are both creative and incredibly technical. Hollingsworth Designs is looking to develop the site further over the coming year by adding new pages, galleries and features. We are looking forward to working with Baseline again and strongly recommend their services as a creative company.

Since early 2010 Lynne has been working closely with Derby Royal Hospital, Labour Ward to create some large-scale murals for the Mid-wife led rooms and also the entrance, corridor and reception. Lynne has also been working with the Antenatal Unit and Maternity Ward to create murals in their waiting areas and corridors.

This large project focusing on enhancing the hospital areas has been a huge success. You can see some of the work and find out more by taking a look at the case studies page. http://www.hdart.co.uk/art-projects/case-studies/

Lynne said, ‘I was pregnant when I started the designs for the enhancement work, my son is now one and I feel like we’ve all been on a fantastic creative journey together. Having had both my sons at the Royal Derby and having worked there I feel like I know the place like the back of my hand! The staff at the hospital have been great to work with – they have great passion and vision – a special mention must go to the wonderful Lorraine Purcell who has been a great person to work with during this project!’

You can see part of Lynne’s Rock Vintage series of painting adorning the walls of the new Movie Shakes in Duffield.

Movie Shakes opened in early September 2010 and is a new thriving milkshake bar. At the back of the milkshake bar there is a great film rental area. All the milkshakes are named after films and there's a screen in the bar showing all the new releases. It is fast becoming the place to be if you are a young person in the area. Lynne’s artwork really fits well in the space. Lynne said ‘I am delighted to have my artwork installed at Movie Shakes it is a great place and is bringing my artwork to an audience of appreciative young people’
