A Creative Careers Conference, aimed at providing students with an overview of the opportunities open to them in the creative industries, was held by New College Nottingham on Tuesday 11th November at Broadway Media Centre, Broad Street, Nottingham during the first annual Colleges Week.
The conference featured an address from keynote speaker, Lynne Hollingsworth as well as a programme of workshops, seminars and presentations delivered by industry representatives, and a ‘marketplace’ of relevant business stands. Reflecting the NCN School of Art, Design, Fashion & Media’s drive to inspire its budding artists and designers to become entrepreneurs, as well as providing insight into the creative arts industry, it is anticipated that the conference will become an annual event. Lisa Patton, Head of School, said: “This was a great opportunity for our students to obtain valuable insight from professionals working in the creative industries and to gain an understanding of the range of possibilities available to them after college. We hope that they found the day inspirational.”
