Hanging out with Hal at the Open Studios Event Summer 2008

Hal enjoyed his first Open Studios Event. He was helping me to exhibit my artwork and made a very unique and creative addition to my new studio space on the third floor. I think he was the most popular exhibit and certainly drew in the crowds. He also got to meet many of the other artists that work in the Mill and certainly enjoyed all the cuddles and the attention he got. Hal says thank you to Jo, Hannah, Laura, Lindsay, Antonia, and so many others, for all the lovely cuddles he got over the weekend!!

Little Hal - The Emerging Artist!!

Little Hal is already making his mark in the art world at only 9 weeks old! Hal was invited to lay the virtual foundation stone at the launch event for Living Derby at Derby Museum and Gallery. As Living Derby’s youngest member he was honoured to be asked to mark this momentous occasion. In front of a large audience he pressed the button which laid the foundation stone – he wasn’t nervous or phased at all, but I think this was due to the fact that he was sleeping serenely throughout! For more information about Living Derby go to http://livingderby.squarespace.com/

Hal was 13 weeks old and wide awake when he worked with his Mum on Bill Drummond’s ‘The 17’ project. Opening later in the year, QUAD is currently under construction in the heart of Derby city centre. QUAD will be a thriving centre for art and film. Hal was with Mum as part of the Mother’s group and this group photograph, which stars Hal, will be displayed in an exhibition that will launch QUAD.

It’s taken a while to get back to my blog, as I have been very busy on my most important creation to date! Hal Thomas Hollingsworth was born at 1.52am on Thursday March 20th. It was all a bit of a surprise, as he came 6 weeks early! He is absolutely gorgeous, very tiny with a big personality! We love him very much.
